Ishikari Biomass Power Plant
Structure carrying process plant.
A frame designed for machinery, not occupancy
A power plant structure is governed by the equipment it carries. Loads are concentrated and dynamic rather than distributed and static, vibration paths have to be interrupted rather than absorbed, and thermal movement across a process building is measured in tens of millimetres.
None of that is covered by an occupancy-driven design approach. The frame was designed around equipment loads from the outset, with penetrations and support positions fixed by the plant layout rather than resolved afterwards.

Where we met this before

Narita Cattle Farm and Compost Facilities
Composting produces heat, moisture and ammonia continuously. The internal environment is corrosive by design and never stops for maintenance.

Saihaku Factory
A controlled production environment. Sealed envelope, jointless floors, and every penetration detailed rather than cut.

Kumagaya-Hanyu Distribution Warehouse
Structural steel designed, fabricated and erected under one party, removing the detailing gap that costs programme.
