Factories and production facilities
A factory that houses a controlled process is not a warehouse with equipment in it. The building is part of the process, and it either supports production or fights it for thirty years.
We design, fabricate and erect production facilities, and we hold the whole package: structural design and calculation, fabrication, erection, roofing and cladding. We do not pass it between parties. That matters most in production buildings, where the expensive mistakes are made at the interfaces.
The controlling requirement is almost never the span or the load. It is the process: where the machinery sits, what it weighs, what it vibrates, what it emits, and what has to stay out of the room.
What makes these difficult
Penetrations detailed, not cut
A penetration cut after the fact breaks the envelope seal and the floor slab at the same time. On a controlled production environment both are the specification. Detailing them into the design from the outset is the difference between a facility that runs and one that is patched for its whole life.
The grid is set by the machinery
Column positions, floor levels and clear heights are fixed by the equipment layout, not by a nominal structural grid. When the layout arrives after the frame is designed, the result is columns in the wrong place and a building the process has to work around.
The environment inside can be the hazard
Food production, composting and cold chain all create internal conditions that attack the structure continuously and never pause for maintenance. Ventilation strategy, coating specification and connection detailing are one decision, not three.
Where we have done it

Saihaku Factory
A controlled production environment. Sealed envelope, jointless floors, and every penetration detailed rather than cut.

Narita Cattle Farm and Compost Facilities
Composting produces heat, moisture and ammonia continuously. The internal environment is corrosive by design and never stops for maintenance.

Sawai Coffee No. 4 Factory
The fourth factory for coffee roaster Sawai.
Also in this area:Yamasho Refrigeration Works, Togo Denki Works, Kanda Gikou Works, Fuji Tamago Production Facility, Green Cross Facility, YAMAKI Facility.
Where this is available
Built in Japan. Contracted and built across the Gulf through our own in-country company, and taken on owner-side wherever the project is.
